Messy Points

Step 1

To start our modelling dough creations, begin by rolling the dough into a smooth round ball. Place a flat hand on the dough ball and roll in a round circle shape until the dough has formed a round ball.

Step 2

It's time to make the long roll of dough. Place one hand on the middle of the ball. Change the direction of your hand and move it backwards and forwards to create a long roll.

Step 3

Pick up one end of the long roll and roll it back onto itself. Keep turning it over and over to form a coil snail shell.

Step 4

Finish by adding googly eyes to your snail.

Extended Idea

Make more snoozy snail family members. How many can you make? Is there a big one, a little one and tiny, tiny ones too?

Big Thinkers

A group of snails is called a walk. They slide on their strong muscular foot, leaving a slippery snail trail behind.
