What you need:
- A3 cardboard in black & orange
- School Watercolour Paint Pain (12 colours, including white)
- Clic&Go Water Cup
- Grip Paint Brush & Scissors
- Black Connector Pen
- White Faber-Castell crayon
- Grip 2001 Graphite Pencil
Step 1
Print out the bat template on A3 paper, then glue this on the back of the black A3 cardboard. Carefully cut around the outline to make your bat. On the black side, lightly draw the word ‘HALLOWEEN’ using a Grip 2001 Graphite Pencil. Make sure to distribute the letters evenly across the bat shape.
Step 2
Now you can design the letters with your fingerprints! Layer red paint from your watercolour paint pan on the edge of your finger and stamp it down to create the letters made of hard lines (H, A, L, etc.). To create the curved letters, repeat using the tip of your finger.
Step 3
For a scary look, use your Grip Paintbrush to drip blood-like paint from the letters. Things are really starting to get spooky!
Step 4
To create a spider, layer black paint on your thumb and stamp it on the orange cardboard. Then, use your Black Connector Pen to create the legs and eyes. Carefully cut around your spider, leaving a thin orange outline.
Step 5
To really make colours pop on black cardboard, create a base using layered white paint. Once dry, you can repeat this step with layers of the desired colour.
Step 6
To create the monsters, try the technique in Step 5 using your thumb print. Once dry, use your Black Connector Pen to draw the mouth and eyes. Follow up with your white crayon to create teeth, legs, arms, hair or horns. Lastly, carefully cut around your creations and leave a thin black outline.
Step 7
Glue your monsters, spiders and other decorative elements to the blank areas of the bat you made earlier. You can then attach the bat and any spare elements to decorative spider webs or Halloween-themed banners!
Step 8
These techniques also work brilliantly for card-making! Scare and delight your friends and family this Halloween by making your own spooky well-wishes for them.
