What you need:
Watercolour paper (300g/m2), water soluble crayons Gelatos (e.g. green, yellow, pink, red), paintbrush, water cup, pencil, drawing template (butterflies), scissors, glue, possibly hot glue, canvas
Step 1

Watercolour paper is coloured with different techniques using the Gelatos.

For this, the watercolour paper is coloured directly with yellow and pink Gelatos, the colour is then smudged with your wet fingers.

The Gelatos can also be applied with a wet paintbrush on wet paper in different colours.

Another possibility is to apply the Gelatos on a waterproof underground (e. g. foil) and to dissolve the colours with water. A piece of paper is then pressed firmly onto the underground with the liquid colours.

Another possibility is to splash colour dots on the paper. For this, apply the Gelatos on a solid surface and mix them with water. Pick up the colour with a paintbrush and splash it on the paper.
Step 2
Once dry, use a pencil to transfer the templates of the butterflies onto the different backgrounds you have created and cut them out.
Step 3
To emphasize colour features, the edges of the butterflies can be coloured once more and smudged with your fingers.
Step 4
Now the butterflies can be glued onto a canvas. For doing this, hot glue is most suitable. It looks very attractive, when the butterflies are glued onto the canvas in assorted colours.
