New ‘must have’ for the stars: Graf von Faber-Castell pens and pencils

The Graf von Faber-Castell brand has achieved in just a short time what few luxury products have managed to do: conquer the hearts of connoisseurs and celebrities all over the world with its unmistakable design and simple elegance.

Among them are Hollywood giants such as Tom Hanks, who used a Graf von Faber-Castell propelling pencil to solve the puzzle in the blockbuster The da Vinci Code, Bill Cosby, Bob Geldof, Vladimir Putin, Doda Miranda, Lord Foster of Thames Bank, and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel have also discovered this aristocratic series of luxury writing implements. Even religious leaders such as Pope Benedict XVI and the Dalai Lama are proud owners of writing implements from the Graf von Faber-Castell Collection – and since the BAFTA awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts, February 8-10, 2008 at the Dorchester Hotel, London), the British equivalent to Academy Awards, so are several more celebrities.

The stars’ new favourite writing implement:

The "Perfect Pencil" at the 2008 BAFTA awards

The new object of desire is the Graf von Faber-Castell luxury "perfect pencil" with a platinum-plated extender and a built-in sharpener – one of the most sought-after gifts at this year’s BAFTA awards. Now the precious writing implement can be found in the handbags and notepads of these stars:

  • Sienna Miller (Casanova, Alfie)
  • Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill)
  • Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean)
  • Thandie Newton (Mission Impossible 2, Emergency Room)
  • Neve Campbell (Scream)
  • Naomie Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean)
  • Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense)
  • June Sarpong (British TV host)
  • Mariella Frostrup (Journalist and TV host, BBC)

The idea and design is based on a pocket pencil produced by A.W. Faber company in the 19th century.

Thanks to its handy dimensions and the eraser under the cap it was nicknamed "the perfect pencil" and

is always at the ready, wherever one goes, to make notes with a freshly sharpened point and rub out mistakes. Its practical portability has also made it a favourite companion of actors and artists.

Practical and luxurious, all in one!
